Happy Thursday everyone!!!! I'm bringing you some scrappers love today!!!! These are a few projects I've been working on. I have my first challenge to post on Colorful Creations on July 1st. WOW!! I'm super excited :-) Any who, I decided to challenge myself by trying a new flower. Paper rosettes. I used youtube for my tutorial. I will post the link below. Take a look and challenge yourself to make one.. They are WONDERFUL!!!! I will post my layout after I post it on CC. Hope you enjoy and have a LUCKY day :-)

Okay.. to start this project you need to pull out your punches.  Different punches make different style rosettes.  The video says to cut 1 inch strips but I went from 1-2 inches and in between for different sizes as well.  These are the punches I chose.  I'd pick ones that you think will make a "good" rosette.  You'll get the hang of it after making one or two :-) 

Here are the strips of paper after punching.  As you can see I have different sizes, punches, and colors...

This is a blue piece of velum that I wanted to try out... I used the lace punch on this.

And here is my finished product!!!! Aren't they beautiful??? Of course, you can embellish your with whatever fits your style.  I chose center pieces that matched the style of the rosette.  I also chose to ink the edges of some and I added a white strip to the biggest one for a different effect.  Watch the video below and give this a shot!!! You'll be surprised at how much fun these can be :-)

Oh, and this is just a better photo of the layout I already posted for my sister's album.  The previous one was taken with flash as we had no sun here for a few days..  now that the sun is back, my camera is working full time!!! Thanks for stopping by guys!  You rock :-)

background paper at Joanns and sanded it down to 

show the swirls. The white paper with black circles and 

the black dotted paper is from the Bella Armoir stack 

from DCWV. The embellishments are from various

 Jolees packs.

And here is my layout... The colors came out really bad here because there was no sun out :-(  I've really been sad about the picture quality... The purple paper in the middle is absolutely gorgeous but it's sooo hard to tell.  I will repost when the sun comes out to play :-)

This is another challenge at Colorful Creations and I thoroughly enjoyed making this one!  The object was to incorporate the word "sweet" into my layout and sweet she is :-) 

This is my youngest daughter on Easter of this year... 

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I started by cutting out

 purple K&Company paper from their "Best Of" stack 

and using it to mat the photos. The tan border on the 

big photo and the journaling tag are also from a 

K&Company die-cut pack. The letters were cut on my 

Cricut also using K&Company paper from the same 

paper pad and I decided to add two inch pieces of the

 same paper behind the photos as well. If you look very 

close, you can also see the creme colored butterfly 

ribbon on the top left and bottom right of the page as 

well. Isn't she "sweet"?!?!?!?

What a fun page this one was to do!!! 

This is my crazy brother on Father's day of this year!!! 

We went out on my father's boat in the bay and I took

 this photo of him at his request (We are all VERY close 

and this was AMAZING to have us all together at one 

time)! The paper is from a "Beach Themed" 

Recollections paper pack from Michaels which I LOVE!!! 

The pattern papers are also from various Recollections 

paper pads as well. The chipboard pieces are from the 

K&Company "Seaglass Collection" and the border at the

 top is from a beach themed border pack.

And these are some Father's day things I made on the Cricut using various Father's day cartridges.  The embellishments are from Recollections and K&Company.  This is the card I made for my dad.  He's owned his own mechanic shop for over 25 years so the front of this card was PERFECT for him!!! 

This is the back and again, the car was perfect for the card.  I had to find a way to get it in here!  He always talks about the "Good ol days" when he had his "muscle cars".   

And this is the inside.  Simple, yet sweet! 

I had to show this to you... It was the simplest thing I've made and it was adorable!!!!  Not that I was able to use it as I don't have anyone in my family that wears ties but I couldn't resist the tie box!  Isn't it cute?!

And last, but certainly not least... The picture frame.  This was a gift to my husband from me and the kids.  I stole the idea off of the Michaels website... I used various stencils and added a wood guitar I purchased from Walmart. Again, my husband and I have a "thing" for guitars as this is how we started dating :-) The pic is from Easter of this year.  It's hard to get the kids still long enough for a photo but I did my best!!!! Hello all!!!! Just saying hello today as I have no pics to post :-( I like to take my pics with natural sunlight and that's been scarce here in Florida the past few days. Nothing but rainy weather and gloomy days... But I have completed some projects and I will be sure to post them ASAP as soon as the sun shines (Hopefully tomorrow)!!!! Hey Gang!!!! So I decided to let you in on a little secret... I AM NOW A DESIGN TEAM MEMBER OVER AT COLORFUL CREATIONS!!!! That's right... you read it correctly!!! I officially design for them. No jokes!!!! So I guess I can show you what I made to earn myself a spot on their ever-so-wonderful design team. Take your time to look and I hope you enjoy. As usual, have a LUCKY day :-)

For the DT Call Challenge I had to create three never-before-seen projects.  So off to scrap I went.  My first design was a card.  Rather simple to tell the truth, but the simplicity made it elegant which was nice.  I started by cutting white cardstock down to a 5x7 card.  I added a four inch strip of black striped pattern paper and centered it on the front of the card, then topped it off with a two inch piece of red textured cardstock.  Then I attached a border to the top of the card and atop of the red cardstock from a K&Company borders pack.  I cut a 4x6 black piece of paper and used 3D dots to make it stand out.  The edges on the black cardstock are from a Recollections "card making" pack (On clearance for $1.49 at Michaels!!!!) as is the black lace on the front.  The silver border is from the remnants of the one used on the bottom and the vellum quote is from a "Wedding themed" DCWV book I purchased some time ago.  Makes a beautiful wedding card, doesn't it?

For my second project, I decided to do a layout of my younger sister on her prom night.  I wanted to show my bright and girly side which is very apparent with the vibrant pink and purple hues.  I started with a white and black swirly 12x12 paper and topped it off with a piece of 10x10 white glittered cardstock.  The purple flowered die-cut was made from the Cricut and I inked the edges and removed every other piece to make it stand out.  I matted both the pictures with specialty silver  shiny paper from K&Company and added black and melon colored paper as well.  I used a border punch by EK Success for both the top and bottom borders and a lace border punch by Recollections for the frame around the top photo.  The embellishments are from several different Jolees packs and the letters are red Thickers.  I topped it off with paper flowers in the corner and added some bling and voila! Prom Night is alive once more!! 

Last, but certainly not least, for my last project I decided to show my lighter and softer side.  Given I have two beautiful girls, its only natural that must scrap with pale pinks, greens and yellows.  And that's exactly what I did here.  I absolutely LOVE how this page came out.  This "style" is a first for me but I really enjoyed taking this one on.  I also learned how to make the rolled up paper roses on this one and they really make the page.  The things you can learn on the internet! I started with a 12x12 paper and started making flowers and picking embellishments to really pick up all the beautiful colors on the background paper.  (I'll have to get back with you on which collection this is from).  I cut a border from a deep edge flower punch in the red color you see and made a pink a green die cut for behind the photo.  I matted the photo on several different pieces of paper, most of the papers used on this page are from the K&Company 360 sheet paper pad.  I added a few sentiments and a journaling card and voila!!!!! There you have it... My beautiful girl on a beautiful page.  Well, hope you've enjoyed yourselves!  Now go have a LUCKY day :-)

Hey there gang!!! I know I haven't posted in a few days but I have been VERY busy with some TOP SECRET material!!!! Okay, maybe not so secret, but I am trying out to be a DT member over at Colorful Creations and need to have "never before seen" work... So you can see them after I've posted them there. I have made a card though that I'd like to share. Nothing fancy, but great for a father this weekend!! As usual, hope you enjoy and have a LUCKY day!!!!

This is a card I made for my Father-in-law for Father's day this Sunday (Don't forget!!!)... I started with a standard piece of 110 lb. cardstock and cut it down for a 5x7 card.  Then I embossed a piece of silver cardstock with the "circles" embossing folder from Cuttlebug and ran it through the Sizzix.  I added a piece of black and silver striped patterned paper at the top and put a white strip of cardstock in between to separate them.  I cut out a piece of rectangular yellow cardstock, followed by silver, then white and added the "Fatherhood" sticker atop of them.  I used left over yellow paper and cut small strips for the bottom, and used a petit circle punch (Recollections) for the black circles.  The small starbursts are also from a Recollections punch as well.  Hope you enjoy guys!!!! Happy Sunday everyone!!! Back again with another one of my creations! I had a really neat challenge to work with and I am very pleased with the end result. Hope you enjoy and have a LUCKY day!!!

The challenge I had to work with here (from Colorful Creations) was to create a layout with stitching on it.  Different points are given for different types (i.e. hand-stitching, "faux" or machine).  This is a picture of my mother's stepfather between 1960-1970 as he checks the oil in the engine aboard one of his shrimping boats.  I started by using the "printing press" type paper in the background and added several "antique" stickers and embellishments including a Bingo card, crossword puzzle, old measuring tape, and an antiquated post card.  I also chose my pattern paper to fit the theme with "notebook style" paper, paper with clocks, and "tattered looking" paper as well.  The title is hand stitched (obviously could use some work!) and the stitching on the banner is from a Cuttlebug embossing folder I ran through my Sizzix.  There is also "faux" stitching on the bottom right atop brown paper.  Hope you enjoy!!!!

Well HELLO again!! So today I bring you a variety of things I've been working on. It's been such a hectic week with two graduations and a birthday but I've managed to make time for scrapping (of course you knew I would!). Take your time to look and as usual have a LUCKY day!!!!!

So I'll start with a graduation card I made for my younger sister (can't believe she's graduated!!!).  For the front, I started with a standard 5x7 card with white cardstock then added left over patterned paper from her last project (gotta love those scraps!) that says congratulations.  Then I embossed purple cardstock with a Cuttlebug stars embossing folder and inked it with Tim Holtz distress ink in Dusty Concord.  I made the "award" sentiment and the "2012" on the Cricut using black and silver cardstock.  I also cut out a standard square with black cardstock and hand stitched around the edges, added a brad to the middle and attached a "tassel" I made from blue and cream colored embroidery thread to replicate the top of a grad's cap.  The yellow Graduation sticker is from a pack of Recollections stickers.   

For the inside I used the same purple cardstock as the front and added a vellum quote that I adhered to patterned paper and attached some more grad sticker embellishments.  I stamped a quote to the bottom left that says "Chase your dreams, you might catch one" from a clear pack I purchased at Joanns.  The grad caps were made from the "Happy Graduation" cartridge on the Cricut. 

For the back I used the same purple cardstock with the same starts embossing folder and inked this up as well.  Added a grad cap from the same cartridge in the black and silver cardstock and added a "Dream" rhinestone sticker that I purchased out of Michaels dollar bins!!!! Beautiful isn't it??? 

 Here's the envelope I made out of clearance cardstock from  Michaels and left over stickers and die cuts. 

This is a birthday card I made for my husband (Happy Birthday Baby!!!!!).  I love the colors as they fit his style to a "T"!!!! I started by cutting the beautiful paper here down to size for 5x7 card.  I embossed white cardstock with a Tim Holtz Sizzix embossing folder called "Rays" and attached it to the front.  The ribbon was purchased from the clearance bin at Walmart.  As I've said before, I am a bargain shopper!!!  I added the vellum quote from the DCWV Celebrations quote stack and two buttons on the ribbon.  The sticker letters are from a Recollections pack I purchased at Michaels.  

On the inside left, I added a black piece of cardstock I embossed with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug embossing folder and added the guitar embellishment (my husband and I have a "thing" for guitars as this is how we started dating) and a Bravissimo sentiment that says "Happy Birthday to you".  The quote on the bottom is a stamp from the dollar bins at Michael's atop of vellum and red polka dot patterned paper.  The silver and black swirly-doos are stickers from Sticko.   On the right side I used the same patterned paper and two different transparent sayings from a "love themed" pack from Joanns.   The vellum quote was from another DCWV quote stack and was perfect for me and my husband!!!! I added some buttons and sheer black ribbon, stamped a birthday celebration stamp with a Versamark Watermark ink pad in Champagne, and that completes that! 

 The back just has a quote from a pack I purchased at Joanns and was perfect.  It reads, " If you live to be 100, I want to live to be 100 minus one day so I never have to live without you."  Winnie the Pooh (How AMAZING!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!) :-)

Last but certainly not least, I made a tag for the "Tag of the month challenge" over at Colorful Creations. The object was to create a tag using inks, two different ribbons and flowers of some sort.  I love how bright and vibrant this tag came out!!! I started by using a Tim Holtz Rays Sizzix embossing folder on a standard No. 8 tag then used several different Tim Holtz distress inks (Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Spun Sugar, and Worn Lipstick) until I got the color "right".  I added a Palm tree sticker out of a "vacation themed" pack (can't remember which brand) and added 3D dots behind it.  I cut out a circle from the Garden Party mat stack (Die cuts with a view) and put the Palm tree sticker on top of it.  I added a strip of flowered ribbon and bordered it with vibrant pink rick rack to make it stand out!  I then put an oval shaped "bamboo" summertime embellishment from a Martha Stewart Tropical Phrases and Frames pack and added a tiny strip of yellow cardstock in the middle.  Then I glued some pink and green striped flip flops in the middle and added a "summer hat" in the left hand corner.  Lastly, I decided on adding the vellum "photo" corners to make the center of the tag really pop.  And there you have it!!!! A super bright fun tag!!! Hope you enjoy :-)

So the challenge (from Colorful Creations) was to create a card drawing inspiration from the card below.  You could be inspired by the layout, colors, or butterfly.  There was also a card challenge over at Sketches4All (http://sketchesforyou.ning.com/) that only required the use of pearls.  I figured I could combine them to test my creativity!!!! Here is the card...

 I chose the colors and the butterfly as my inspiration... I did a little blue and green and decided on red as my contrast color.  This is a card I'm making for a friend who is in need of a "pick me up".  I started with standard red cardstock and cut it to size (5x7 card). I added a matstack from the Mariposa DCWV collection and of course inked the edges with Tim Holtz's distress ink in Broken China.  I stamped the flower in the middle on white cardstock from a mounted stamp I purchased from Michaels some time ago.  I then inked it with several different blues and greens from the distress ink collection and cut it out.  the rest of the flowers are from several different K&Company packs as are the butterflies.  Then I added some very light green pearls on some of the flowers and butterflies.  The stamped quote (Just know I'm here for you) was purchased from the dollar bin at Michaels also!!! (Yes, I'm a bargain shopper!!! In this hobby, its a MUST!!!!)  Well, I hope you enjoyed my card :-) Have a wonderful day!

Yes, I know it's late... but it has been a rather long day today... Any who, I am only able to bring you one layout today although I've been busy making other things. However, my husband (love you baby!) is also a follower of my blog and is not allowed to see his Birthday nor Father's day cards! So the layout to be done was from an "inspired challenge" over at Colorful Creations (http://colorfulcreations.ning.com/).  We were given an item (chocolate cake) and asked to make something, drawing your inspiration for your creation, from the cake. So here is the cake... (Super yummy looking!!!!!)

 And here is my layout!!! I chose the brown colors from the color of the cake, the yellowish-tan paper from the inside frosting and caramel, and the circle shape from the roundness of the cake.  The picture I used was perfect also as this is my oldest daughter eating wedding CAKE on our wedding day!!! (Perfect right?) Well, I hope you enjoyed my creation! 

Hello again gang!!! It's been a few days so I bring you quite a few layouts I've made. The sketch-a-thon at Colorful Creations has come to an end and thankfully I was able to complete ALL 23 sketches!!! Woo Hoo!!!! Anyway, here are my creations... Hope you enjoy and have a Lucky Day!

So here is the first sketch I had to work with... Pretty simple...

And here is my layout!!! Pretty simple as well.  The paper was PERFECT for the challenge as it had the butterflies and swirly-doos in the corners already.  I just added some borders and a vellum quote which was also perfect for the pics.  This is my oldest daughter when she was about 18months old.  She use to LOVE tearing up the the toilet paper!!!! I actually cut the butterflies on the page out of left over scrap from the orange butterfly paper in the back... Pretty neat right???

Here is another sketch I had to work with....

 I thought it would be perfect to scrap my younger sister in her senior photos!!!! She'll be graduating next week (tear :-(.... she grew up soooo fast!) but these pics are AMAZING! Nothing fancy on this paper either.  I just cut several papers down to size to meet the criteria of the sketch and added a vellum quote on the side.. Seemed to be perfect for the layout!!! Her school colors are blue and white so I decided to add the blue ribbon in the back,  I really like how this one turned out :-)

And the next sketch... Definitely a little more difficult... but I had fun with it!!!

 And here is my beautiful page!  This is my husband and I at Atlantis in  Nassau Bahamas.  It's far more beautiful in person... I did a little hand stitching around the photo to frame it and added some K&Company flowers around the page.  Not my fav page but it turned out okay :-)

 And here is my WONDERFUL creation!!!!!! I love it!!! Absolutely love it!!! This is my husband and my oldest daughter on Easter of this year.  I named it butterfly kisses because it was just the sweetest moment ever!!!! I used several different K&Company papers, flowers, and butterflies from several different packs. I just love how the colors all blended so well together.  Thanks for taking your time to look at my creations!!! Hope you enjoy them as much as I do and have a lucky day :-)
